GE Fanuc Embedded Systems was formed through the acquisition of some of the best companies in the embedded solutions industry, companies like VMIC, RAMiX, and Computer Dynamics. GE Fanuc Embedded Systems is not only focused on providing solutions for today but intent on driving the technology of the future, a company of experts ready to meet and exceed your requirements, a company backed by the reliability and global support of one of the most respected companies in the world, GE.
GE Fanuc Embedded Systems provides PowerPC VME based multiprocessor computers for commercial, industrial, defense and aerospace applications. These solutions include single, dual, and quad processor boards using PowerPC Altivec technology with commercial, rugged, air- and conduction-cooled environmental support. Our WingSpan software development suite includes board support packages (BSP) and signal processing libraries for VxWorks and SMP Linux operating systems. With extensive PMC module support from the complete lineup of GE Fanuc and 3rd party PMC's, you can quickly configure and develop a solution to meet your system requirements.
GE Fanuc Embedded Systems delivers the latest generation of leading edge real-time VME solutions. Our VME PowerPC products provide customers with flexible I/O through build options as well as the opportunity to obtain application customization for strategic business opportunities. We maintain software compatibility within each architectural format, independent of the number of processors, I/O requirements or environmental performance selected by the client. We also offer turnkey solutions with a variety of validated third party industry standard PMC modules and support for real time operating systems including VxWorks® and Linux. An Altivec™ optimized suite of math and signal processing libraries are available as part of our WingSpan™ development suite to take advantage of the PowerPC's powerful Altivec vector processing technology.
The VQG4 is a high-performance quad G3 (MPC750) or G4 (MPC7410) PowerPC (PPC) VMEbus Single Board Computer (SBC) designed to support high-end multi-processing applications. The board's architecture strikes a balance between four processors sharing global memory and I/O resources and four individual processors, each with its own dedicated memory resources. The VQG4, which provides four processors that can operate independently or cooperatively, was specifically designed for embedded applications. With its vast array of interfaces (VME, Ethernet, PMC, RACE++, serial ports, PCI-P0), the VQG4 allows users to perform intensive I/O while permitting rigorous computing. Two industry standard PMC sites enhance the I/O capability of the board, allowing users to provide program specific features by using commercially available PMC modules. The boards are completely open standards based, from the RTOS to the G4 optimized VSIPL (Vector Signal Image Processing Library), to ease technology insertion. Other embedded features include a 32 MB User Flash pool and up to 512 MB of embedded memory.
The NEXUS™ Multiprocessor family from GE Fanuc Embedded Systems provides shared and distributed memory processing architecture solutions using Freescale discrete PowerPC’s and supports scaling of multiple processing nodes. Using Freescale Semiconductor 7447A or 7448 PowerPC CPU’s, these high performance multiprocessors address the most demanding signal and image processing applications.
With the addition of the Forte to the NEXUS family, users have a full range of environmental support for multiprocessor systems. When combined with our WingSpan software suite, these high performance solutions from GE Fanuc provide software compatibility from development to deployment.
